Extreme Parenting with The Nurtured Heart Approach
Full Workshop Series
Parenting children with intense behaviors is like trying to drive a Mack truck when you learned to drive with a Prius. The Nurtured Heart Approach is a strengths based process designed to support healthy relationships. It was developed by Howard Glasser to support adults engaging with difficult, intense and challenging behaviors in children. There is no age limit on those who can learn and be successful with NHA relationships.
Suggested audience: parents, caregivers, teachers
Learning Objectives:
· Explain why conventional methods of parenting and teaching often fail with intense children · Develop strategies for helping adults avoid accidentally rewarding negativity · Understand how to create and nurture successful children’s experiences · Help children keep the rules · Develop confidence in parent’s ability to reduce parenting stress in the family
