Transforming the Difficult Child: The Nurtured Heart Approach (1999) by Howard Glasser and Jennifer Easley
This was the book that I miraculously found one day at the bookstore. (I used to say "by accident"). I hate the title. As soon as I began reading it though, I was hooked! I began highlighting and marking the text while I began incorporating the ideas at home.
The Inner Wealth Initiative: The Nurtured Heart Approach for Educators (2007) by Howard Glasser, Tom Grove and Melissa Lynn Block
This book is a powerful testament to how children respond when confronted with their own "Inner Wealth" in school. If you are in an education environment I strongly encourage you to read this book. You will recognize students you know and work with and I am certain you will begin identifying ways that you can begin the NHA yourself.
Transforming the Difficult Child Workbook - An Interactive Guide to the Nurtured Heart Approach (2008) by Howard Glasser, Joann Bowdidge and Lisa Bravo
This is the "how-to" for the NHA; presented with concrete steps and practices that you can begin using right away. This is the workbook we use for NHA workshops. I suggest that once you start, you will go further and further with the steps. If your world doesn't change, I need to know!
All Children Flourishing: Igniting the Greatness of Our Children (2008) by Howard Glasser with Melissa Lynn Block
This is my favorite title of all the books! The first half presents an introduction and background to the NHA. The second half discusses incorporating NHA at home. I love the easy to read style in this book. Look for this book in the local library.
Transforming the Difficult Child: True Stories of Triumph (2008) edited by Howard Glasser and Jennifer Easley
You will laugh and cry as you read this book. The stories are touching. You will recognize children that you know and likely yourself! I love this book because these are the children of the future and I want them in my life. This is why I am a trainer and a NHA mother.
